New Tóke single out now!
"Humble Me" is not only the first Tóke release of the new year, but also works well as a mantra for this time! This fresh and uptempo one-drop song with a very catchy hook could prove just the right motivation to keep going and gain pers-pective when we need to remember our worth. With a mix of courage, gratefulness, and melancholy, Tóke conveys a message of humility, gained throughout the journey of life. The lyrics are supported by a sonic blend of organic sounds and a deep synthesizer bass, warming the listener's heart and ears.
bio
From the buzzing streets of Jakarta, Indonesia, to Europe’s cultural capital, Berlin, the Indonesian-German artist has lived many lives. A transformative journey to Jamaica in 2015 ignited his musical path. There, sessions at the legendary Inna De Yard with guitar veteran Earl “Chinna” Smith (Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Amy Winehouse) and performances at iconic events such as Vinyl Thursdays, Dubwise, and Jamnesia (breeding grounds for artists like Chronixx and Protoje) shaped his sound and stage presence. With a voice that feels like an embrace — letting you know it’s okay not to be okay — Tóke offers a clear-eyed yet tender reflection on what it means to be human and to navigate this wild ride we call life. His unique sound soon reached global stages: from the Havana World Music Festival in Cuba to a tour of Mexico alongside reggae pioneer Lengualerta. He was later invited to join european reggae heavyweights Gentleman and Patrice as a support act, carrying the torch to ever-wider audiences. Extensive tours with Indonesian cultural icon Ras Muhamad gave him a fresh perspective on his roots, while the collaboration “Brown Face,” with Indonesian hip-hop heavyweights Mario Zwinkle and Tuantigabelas, resonated across the archipelago and earned airplay on major European radio stations.
Humble Me
After moving to Berlin in 2017 Tóke met Berlin-based producer Jon Moon and the two over time became not only colleagues, working together in the studio and on stage, but friends as well. So it was really only a matter of time until a first co-production. The foundation for Humble Me was written spontaneously in an after-playing-football-studio-session: Tóke, Jon Moon, Inti and Giuseppe "BigFinga" Coppola met at Planet Earth Studios in Berlin. Jon Moon started building a riddim in the kitchen, and once the vibe was there went into the studio with Tóke to start recording and writing. BigFinga, who was still chatting to Inti in the kitchen listened to the riddim for a bit, picked up the tempo, went to his studio and returned less than half an hour later with drum stems. In the meantime Tóke wrote the words for the Chorus, while Jon Moon kept working on the riddim. And so the song fell into place, like it was meant to be –– a truly humbling experience for the artist and the producer!
Humble Me was released digitally by Yutman Records and Munggu Tribe Records on January 23rd 2026.
